TRIPARTITE MARITIME SCHOLARSHIP (TMSS)

WHAT IT IS

Only for students pursuing a Diploma in Nautical Studies (DNS) or Diploma in Marine Engineering (DMR) at Singapore Polytechnic, the Tripartite Maritime Scholarship (TMSS) is a seafaring scholarship open to local students aspiring to be future captains and chief engineers of ocean-going vessels. Upon attainment of CoC Class 2, TMSS recipients will be required to serve a bond of 3 years with the sponsoring shipping company on a seagoing appointment.

BENEFITS

  • School Fees for the 3-year Diploma programme
  • Monthly Allowance of $1,000 during diploma programme, cadetship and COC Class 1/2 preparatory course
  • Course Fees for Certificate of Competency Class 1&2 Preparatory Course and any compulsory courses necessary for the attainment of COC Class 2
  • Milestone Achievement Bonus of $3,000, $4,000 and $5,000 after the attainment of COC Class 3/5, COC Class 2 and COC Class 1 respectively
  • Annual Book and Uniform Allowance of $300 during diploma programme

WHO CAN APPLY

  • Students pursuing Diploma in Nautical Studies or Diploma in Marine Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic
  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Possess good academic results (Both GCE ‘O’ Levels and Higher NITEC graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Have a good record of Co-curricular activities and/or community service
  • Be 17 to 24 years of age

WHEN TO APPLY

Application typically starts between January and April while matching and confirmation of scholars will be announced in May.
