BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) WITH SPECIALISATION IN OFFSHORE OIL AND GAS TECHNOLOGY
WHAT IT IS
Offered by National University of Singapore, students pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) with Specialisation in Offshore Oil and Gas Technology will spend the first two years building a solid foundation in mechanical engineering where they receive rigorous training in Science and Mathematics.
Specialisation starts from year three when they read two compulsory technical electives (namely, Fundamentals in Petroleum Geoscience and Offshore Oil and Gas Technology) and at least two other selected modules.
Selected students can also be enrolled into the Subsea Track within the “Offshore Oil & Gas Technology Specialisation” where they will read an additional module on Subsea Systems Engineering. Students will also work on offshore oil & gas related design and final year projects (FYP), and are encouraged to participate in relevant industry attachments. Guest speakers from the offshore oil & gas industry will also be invited to deliver industrial application lectures to provide insights about the industry.
- H2 Mathematics, and
- H2 Physics or H2 Chemistry
Students specialising in offshore oil and gas technology will receive a separate certificate of specialisation, in addition to their B.Eng. (ME) degree scroll, thereby giving them an edge in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry.
Penultimate or final year students specialising in offshore oil and gas technology are eligible to apply for MaritimeONE scholarships. Visit the MaritimeONE scholarship website for more information.
