GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MARITIME LAW & ARBITRATION

WHAT IT IS

Designed for students who do not possess a first degree in law, this diploma offered by the National University of Singapore provides specialised training in maritime law and arbitration to professionals such as master mariners, chief engineers and graduates from other disciplines working in the maritime sector. Individuals working for Singapore-based companies and are able to furnish evidence of full sponsorship or a letter of support from their companies or the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) can pursue the course on a part-time basis over two years.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified master mariner, chief engineer and/or tertiary degree in another discipline
  • Minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT 100. (Candidates with an iBT score of 92-99 may also apply, but may be required to undertake intensive English language training prior to commencing law studies. Other TOEFL paper-based score of 600-603 or minimum IELTS 7.0 may be considered, though the TOEFL iBT is strongly preferred by NUS)
  • 2 years of working experience in the maritime sector

SKILLSFUTURE AWARD

Students pursuing the Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law & Arbitration are eligible for the SkillsFuture Study Awards (Sea Transport)
