WHAT IT IS
The Marine Superintendent ensures the safe operations of ships and compliance to all international marine requirements. He/she assists in the implementation and upkeep of the Safety Management System and will be required to conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the statutory requirements. The Marine Superintendent also ensures compliance to the organisation’s risk management framework.
The Marine Superintendent is also responsible for conducting pre-vetting inspection onboard the ship and followup. He provides guidance to the Ship Captain/Master onboard for nautical matters and also conducts incident investigation onboard the ship. He promotes and develops a culture of continuous improvement in pursuit of organisational objectives.
Marine Superintendents and Senior Marine Superintendents earn a monthly salary of about $7,800 to $11,700 per month. Salary variation depends on the size of fleet managed and the type of vessels managed.

- Certificate of Competency (CoC) (Deck Officer) Class 1
